Each year, countries that are un- or under-represented in the United Nations, are invited to take part in the United Nations Young Professionals Program.
The United Nations Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a recruitment initiative for talented, highly qualified professionals to start a career as an international civil servant with the United Nations Secretariat. It consists of an entrance examination and professional development programs once successful candidates start their career with the UN.
The United Nations Young Professionals Program examination is held once a year and is open to nationals of countries participating in the annual recruitment exercise. The list of participating countries is published annually and varies from year to year.
The job openings can be found on the UN Careers Portal and in Inspira. Furthermore, the exam areas and their corresponding job openings are:

Remember to watch the application guidance video to learn more about the process. Candidates are allowed to submit an application for only one YPP job opening. On another note, submissions to multiple YPP exams will result in an automatic disqualification.

The United Nations Young Professionals Program shall end after two years and is subject to satisfactory performance, successful candidates may be granted a continuing contract.
In order to qualify for the scholarship, interested candidates must first adhere to the following requirements:
Staff members of the United Nations Secretariat who work within the General Service and other related categories and aspire to a career within the Professional and higher categories are encouraged to apply.
